Most of the time, lunch is quick. It’s in and out without too much thought because, I mean, we have things to do after all. But what if you had a second to slow down and take a longer lunch? Where would you go? I’ve picked my 5 favorite places with the perfect ambiances to lounge and lunch.
1300 N Dearborn St, Chicago, IL 60610
This is my absolute favorite new place in Chicago. It’s inside the new 4 story Restoration Hardware in the heart of Gold Coast and is stunningly beautiful. The food is delicious and the tables are set up for lounging, working, or whatever else you may want to do on your lunch. It’s an experience like nothing you’ve ever had before!
115 E Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60611
Another restaurant inspired by the very store it’s inside, RL Restaurant is made for catching up with old and new friends with inside and outside seating. The food is All-American so there’s something for everyone. You can easily make reservations on Open Table and make sure to wear a cute outfit!
65 E Washington St, Chicago, IL 60602
This European inspired café is one of my favorite places to work (fast internet!) in the morning and afternoon. They have delicious coffee, sandwiches, and (in my opinion) the best macarons that I have found thus far in the city. It’s small and comfy and sometimes I end up working, having meetings with clients, and hanging out with friends there all day.
353 W Hubbard St, Chicago, IL 60654
You know this is a great inviting place for lunch when their website clearly states, “Escape for a few hours with lunch. Let your stress slip away as you enjoy our coastal-inspired cuisine made with fresh, seasonal ingredients.” I really don’t think I need to say anything else!
321 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60654
This place is perfect for a beautiful sunny, warm, summer afternoon. It’s right on the river where you can watch the boats going by and enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. It’s the perfect spot for, what feels like, a little getaway. I love to get lots of little plates to share. And don’t forget to make reservations!
