Ok, ok, I realize Summer isn’t officially over yet and I’m over here already talking about next Spring. Just hang on, hang on. Possibly you’ve been hiding under a rock, but New York Fashion Week is happening now and designers (for the most part) are showing their Ready to Wear Spring 2017 collections. Yes, it seems crazy, but it’s how it works. Although NYFW is still going on, I’ve rounded up 7 trends that I’m already seeing for Spring 2017 and telling you how you can incorporate them into your wardrobe right now.
TREND #1: ALL NEUTRAL SETS
Nothing looks more put together right now than wearing all of the same color or color tones in your outfit, especially all white. Yes, you can wear all white after Labor Day!
TREND #2: Metallics
Metallics can add a punch and some pizazz to any outfit! Don’t think about just wearing metallics for a party. Pair them with everyday items to have a cool casual feel.
TREND #3: Ruffles
Ruffles are the ultimate feminine touch to any garment. They feel girly, yet sophisticated and can be worn to the office or a party.
Incorporate this in your Fall wardrobe: wear a ruffled long sleeve blouse with any pants in your closet
TREND #4: Sheer, Sheer, & More Sheer
This trend can go from really beautiful to really taboo quickly. I wouldn’t suggest wearing a completely shear top without any undergarments (like they’re shown on the runway) to work. That’s a sheer way to get fired (haha, this terrible joke works if said in a “southern-ish” accent)! Take this trend as an inspiration and then wear it appropriately.
Incorporate this in your Fall wardrobe: wear a sheer blouse with a camisole underneath as a gateway to this trend
TREND #5: Stripes on Stripes
I wouldn’t necessarily call stripes a trend. However, what I’m seeing on the runway definitely is. Designers have reinvented the stripe and how the pattern is used and that’s what makes it trendy. Wearing bold stripes in the entirety of an outfit will definitely make you stand out.
Incorporate this in your Fall wardrobe: wear a chic striped jacket that feels unexpected
TREND #6: Boho Goddess
This trend has really come to surface lately, and according to Spring trends, it’s not going anywhere soon! These dresses are beautiful and ethereal making any woman feel like a goddess.
TREND #7: Fierce Gladiator
I bought my first, and what I thought would be my last, gladiator sandals my sophomore year of college (whoop, whoop 2009!). However, these fierce new styles are making me second guess them and I now want to get my hands on a new pair. They’re intricate, yet can also feel simple and will definitely amp up any outfit.
Incorporate this in your Fall wardrobe: wear a lace-up over the knee bootie to channel this trend and make it cold weather worthy
