Bag: Michael Michael Kors
I was having a discussion with Craig this past week and something came up about my Instagram. He noticed the lack of poppy color in my feed, especially compared to other bloggers. This had been something that I’d been thinking about a lot lately (because Instagram is probably the most important thing in my life…just kidding!). But really, I had been thinking about it. And then I realized something in that moment. Why would I change my entire wardrobe to include pink sweaters, green blouses, and peacock blue tanks just to have color in my feed like so many others? Don’t get me wrong, I think all of those colors are beautiful in all of those forms, but those colors are not me. And I’ve realized that staying true to my style and my color scheme is so much more important.
I follow a lot of other wonderful bloggers who wear amazing bright colors. Immediately, I want to buy said bright colored clothing. But then I have to step back and ask myself, “Am I just wanting to buy this bright clothing so I can put it on my blog/Instagram and then file it away in the back of my closet because I’ll never wear it in real life?” Usually, that answer is yes. (Unless it’s a hot pink dress. I can never say no to that!) How do you stay true to your style in this Instagram filled world and check yourself when wanting to impulse buy?
All this to say…I love wearing black and white. Combining these classics in any outfit will always guarantee that you will look put together and chic. And I choose to add a “pop” to my outfit by adding polka dots!
